Top Gun—A Novel Simulation Program to Test the Skills of Pediatric Orthopaedic Trainees

چکیده

Although this “See one, Do Teach one” model of education has been utilized in North America over the last century, there is growing evidence/emphasis on surgical simulation as a means improving medical education, optimizing clinical outcomes, and promoting patient safety. In 2012, at International Pediatric Orthopaedic Symposium (IPOS®), Top Gun was introduced new pediatric orthopedic contest designed to test fundamental skills related orthopaedics highlight POSNA’s commitment education. The focus use program, initially by Donald S. Bae, MD, with improve task performance, maximize promote safety, optimize orthopaedic training. This review will outline important elements provide toolkit for others wishing create their own version TopGun.
